Tour the historic Princess Theatre Woolloongabba

Saturday, 1 June 2024

Join the Princess Theatre’s historian Robert Allen for a behind-the-scenes tour of Brisbane’s oldest performing arts venue.

Born as a community hall in 1889, the Princess had numerous identities before its rebirth as a world class performing arts venue in 2021. This tour takes in more than 130 years of the Princess, with a special focus this time on its history as a movie theatre between 1912 and 1948.

The Princess is located at 8 Annerley Road, Woolloongabba, opposite the Mater Hospital. It is a short walk from both the Southbank railway station and the Mater Hill bus station. There is also paid parking nearby.
